Washing machine horror show...

Morning folks.

Over the weekend we had our electricity trip out and we have narrowed the cause of this down to the washing machine....

Every time we turn it on it trips the electricity to the whole house - the machine is 2.5 years old now.

The machine is a Servis Easi Logic 1600. It obviously came with a one year warranty but also a 5 year "parts only" warranty too.

Now Servis have gone into administration so I called up Argos and they said that they would honour the warranty for parts only as per Servis' own warranty.

Now I am waiting for a call for the company who Argos use and hope to have them out to fix it soon, however now I am concerned how much they are likely to charge for labour and "call out fee".

Does anyone know what they charge now?

What happens if they come out and its something that they can't fix, will I still have to pay?

Cheers

around here they charge a 30/50 quid call out fee, even if they cannot fix it.
labour rates are about 20/40 per hour plus parts.

Cheers ormus... have just had a call from the company and they said its a flat fee of £68.51 for call out and labour which doesn't seem that bad...

Although if they get here and can't fix it then i'll be p*ssed off...

If Servis have gone bust, are parts likely to be difficult to get hold of?

If thats the case, what happens to the machine?

lots of machines use the same parts inside, so that should not be a big problem.
if the machine is deemed to be scrap then most warranties will replace the machine.
you need to check your warranty T&C.
