Ipswich: Places to visit and eat

My husband and I are taking our four year old daughter for a short break to Ipswich later on this week.

Can anyone recommend any good places to visit?

If anyone can also recommend any cafes or restaurants that offer good family food but not too expensive, I'd really appreciate it.

There is a free museum in Ipswich, right off top of my head can't give you addresses of places to go but if you go to 'Tourist Board' site you should be able to find lots of info. Enjoy your stay.

you could always go to Jimmy's farm http://www.jimmysfarm.com/ thats just outside Ipswich, its got quite a few things for kids, nature walks, animals etc (he is also a good friend of jamie oliver) and sells lots of lovely food

I sopose you could talk a walk in Christchurch Park, and see the mansion (not sure if you can go in)

The are just the usual pubs and things, in the cardinals park area there is a cinema, and a few places to eat including a cheap 2 for 1 pub (all day everyday)
