Self employed, do I need PAT testing?

Mods please move if this isn't in correct place........

I am self employed and work from home as a beauty therapist, can some-one tell me if PAT testing is compulsory and if so, do you know how much is reasonable to pay for such a service?

Thanks in advance.........

It looks as if you have a duty of care to your clients:

I would suggest you ring around for prices as this will vary from area to area.

I'm near Glasgow, but thanks for the offer....can you help by giving me an idea of what a reasonable rate would be?

Thank you fengirl, I got lots of great info from your link and realise I do indeed need to have this carried out.

Is there anyone who can give me an idea of reasonable costs?
I've only managed to get an estimate from one company so far and I don't have a comparison to know if its reasonable or not.

    Thank-you.....I have 11 items.

One thing I'm worried about is the fact I only have one double socket in my room so I have extension leads....will this be a problem for me?

Do you know any electricians who work for the NHS/council?

They will have access to a PAT testing machine and may be able to help out.
