Euro Car Parks - PCN for parking in a disabled bay

Received a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) ticket recently for apparently parking in a disabled bay in a retail park in England. I assume the car park is privately owned, and I know (now) that it is operated by Euro Car Parks (ECP). I know that the signage at the car park is first class - there are no arguments about the signs.

  • As you have said, its safe to ignore. CCTV is not good enough quality to show any driver and be able to identify them. If you wish to be sure about any Euro's debt collectors etc check out Pepipoo and then come back here. AFIK Euro have never taken anyone past the scary letters with checkered borders.
    Don't contact them.
Don't admit anywhere who was driving, even if you do remember.
Don't worry they give up soon.
Lines painted by a private car park operator are just pretty lines in that they have no basis in law.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

... My question is - what happens after the debt collection company writes a letter like this

The OP did not say what happened next.
That "Final Notice" on pepipoo was issued last August. It's even got red lettering on it. If anything had happened after that, the OP there would have come back and posted something, but they very rarely do, what happens in practice is that the PPC/Debt Collectors realise that this particular customer isn't going to play their game, and they move on to a less well-informed mug.

Debt Collectors (in practice, often the PPC under a different name) have no powers to do anything other than ask for the money. Ignore it all.
