Hi,
I'm not really too sure of whether this is the right forum to post this
but here goes.
My wife and I have a long term plan to move to Canada (She's Canadian, and we plan to settle there in around 5 years time). For now though, as we are stuck in a small flat in London we are looking to free up some space by shipping some of our books to Canada, where her parents have kindly agreed to store everything in their basement.
Having never shipped on this sort of scale before I'm a little lost where to start and as most quotes I'm getting are in the order of £900  I'm hoping that folks here would have recommendations for where to go and how to start. For reference, the size of the books we are looking to send is approximately 3ft x 3ft x 3ft.
Thanks in advance.

you are probably getting air freight rates. try a sea freight shipping company.
ps.
friends of ours went to canada a few yrs ago, they used a container for the household effects. it cost 3 grand!
they didnt like the cold/snow so came back, and paid the same again!
i told them it would have been cheaper and quicker to sell everything and buy new stuff, in the first place.Get some gorm.0
