Have you actually checked with ea that house you saw on rightmove is still for sale? Only when I was house hunting last year I found rightmove hopelessly out of date, with many of the properties I liked the look of either sold or under offer when I contacted the ea's.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Hi all,
Well viewers made an offer on monday for £2500 under asking price :j Naturally we said yes. Now they said nothing about taking it off the market, and EA's have asked to do a viewing on Sunday pm, I was hesitant at first as feels disloyal, but EA's seems to think until they have had a survey done etc proceed with viewers incase one is a cash buyer.
Now the house we were interested in is definantly still on the market, owner "just wants rid" according to 1 EA (which makes me wonder why? going bust, repossession) and he reckons if we go in at lower end of guide price £225000 - 230000 he will let it go, which makes me think would he accept £215000.
They have been phoned twice to try an arrange a veiwing. I'm playing it cool and being very non commital about it all.
What to do, this new house would be a stretch for us at this time, in 6-12 mths not so much as hopefully have completed but have saved up abit. But with every other like for like property up for £280000 - 300000 I am torn with what to do.0 -
If you are wise you will allow the viewing on sunday, until exchange of contracts there is no guarantee the people who offered will actually buy, its always nice to have a safety net.
As for the other property, well its obviously something you really want which is a big thing in itself, its relatively cheap and its a home for life, which again is a big thing.
If you can realistically afford it, only you know if you can, whats your bills/other expenditure like etc then buy it and be happy.

Yeah this home buying lark is a breeze ;o)
Can't believe I'm back in amongst it 19mths later, hey ho you live and learn. I think I'm goin to ride the week out and consider viewing at the weekend. If this house is meant to be it's meant to be and it will still be there in a week's time. If I appear too keen too quickly the EA's will smell blood (LOL) and because my budget is not huge I don't want to get pushed to my limit too quickly.
