ideas on tenerife (or other canaries flights) Oct half term?

Hi,

we were thinking of going away for some sunshine in October half term, to probably Tenerife. The kids break up on the 23rd for a week, so ideally going the Saturday 24th , but I suppose we could over lap the term by a couple of days if really necessary. I have been pricing up the flights and they are either very expensive or not coming up as available? Am I too early? Can anyone suggest the best time to book or where to get a good deal from?
Many thanks,

Woohoo!

    Hi
Depending on where you are flying from you could try the low cost airline and book accom through either the hotel direct or through one of the many hotel traders {like Hotelopia} Remember that as it is half term the price will be dearer though

Thanks for the replies. I have had a look but Easyjet says it finishes that route during the middle of that week? I did find a cheapy one way with Ryanair I think (confused myself looking at so many) but no joy with both ways!! I'll search on and try skyscanner - thanks.

easyJet hasn't put flights from 25th October 09 on sale yet.

Tenerife will be pricey for that week and it probably will help if you can fly a day or so either side. Try: on the beach .com, they check no frills and other airlines as well as offering up hundreds of cheap hotels and apartments - transfers are booked seperate. Plan wisely as the resorts themselves have also been pricey lately - a relative of mine came back from Tenerife in November, she said among other things a packet of plain Tuc biscuits in resort was 3euros! So it might pay to go half-board or all inclusive if the price is right to avoid hyked-up prices in the resorts.

If you could fly wed, thur or fri before half term it would save you quite a lot of money, have you thought of looking at a package from the travel agents there are some really good offers, discounts etc at the moment and they'd do all the trawling for you.
