My curtain pole has come down one side after redecoration, the curtain pole is hung from the ceiling on the plasterboard, theres nothing else above it to anchor the screws too. Will i be able to use raw plugs suitable for plasterboard and if so which ones bearing in mind my curtains are pretty heavy?

I would get the Screwfix hollow wall fixings, or similar.
part no 122290 -
jenifer is right, screw fix has an excellent selection my advice is to go for the "Fischer " brand.0

You can get the plasterboard fixing as previously stated.
Personally I wouldn't use them on anything too heavy, holding up a curtain track and heavy curtains that get opened/closed daily would be risking it.
Can't you get some fixings into the brick side walls instead.0 -
i have always fastened a timber (3" pencil round architrave)to the ceiling and then fastened the rail to thatif you think peoples advice is helpfull please take the time to clicking the thank you button it gives great satisfaction0

The screwfix ones I quoted are very strong, but the limit will be the strength of whatever you are fixing them into. Our house is timber frame, so plasterboard walls, we have used literally hundreds of these fixings over the years without problems. But using them in a ceiling is different to in a wall, the wall will take much more weight.
We use wooden battens fixed securely to the timber in the wall to fix our curtain rails to.0 -
thanks guys Im gonna try the raw plugs first as the curtain poles were already put there when i moved in. ive been using them fine for 18mths but now ive re decorated and they were taken down as only one bracket has come loose it would be alot of work to take both down fill in and re position ect...:hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad0
