Did you do a University work placement / internship, or looking for one ?

Options
I carried out a 12 month internship whilst at University with a major blue-chip company last year. I believe the following website will be very useful for any student who is 1) Either looking for a work placement or internship or 2) Somebody who has already done one.

It's the students who make this website what it is, by providing REAL honest advice and reviews of all the major placement recruiters.

The official website blurb is as follows:

The UK’s leading website for Placements and Internships.

RateMyPlacement.co.uk is a website that is dedicated to all areas of work experience, sandwich placements and internships for undergraduates.
We currently have a database of over 1,000 student written reviews providing a detailed insight into what it is really like to gain work experience at a particular company.
Alongside these reviews, we have the largest listing of placement and internship jobs in the UK.
Read student written reviews, check out our advice pages and apply for placements and internships all on RateMyPlacement.co.uk. Click on the link below to register.

The link is here: http://www.ratemyplacement.co.uk/articles/online-referrals-further-information/

(I am a final year student who is also a Rep for RateMyPlacement.co.uk - This basically means I do get paid if someone registers for free on the website, through my link. This does not impact my recommendation however, as I truly believe this website is excellent for those looking or have done a work placement.)

If you wish to register but do not want me to earn a referral link then the address to use is www.ratemyplacement.co.uk

If you found the website useful and/or have any comments feel free to post below.

Thanks :)

P.s. I know this isn't strictly a 'money saving' post, however the benefits of the website for any student will help prosper career prospects, thus resulting in financial gain and knowledge.

  • While the company I am currently on placement with is not on this site, I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone on a degree course to do a placement. You gain invaluable experience, and I have now completely changed my career path, have started freelance web development work and am enjoying every minute of it, something I would never have thought would be possible 6 months ago.

    Take the opportunity!!
