My husband is USING the kitchen. And he's frying. :wall:

I need to get over the control freakery! If I've just literally wiped it all down I have to realise that it will get messy again but why right now? He could at least let me finish the thing before he splats oil all over the surfaces, hob and splashback again :(

Just make sure he knows what you've done and that he HAS TO leave it as he found it - on pain of death!!! :p :rotfl:

Do not read it if you are on a diet.

I'm trying to avoid the grainy/crystalised texture thing. Any ideas?

Help! What's HHC & HHI Please?

How much pleasure can a girl derive from running back to tell random strangers what I've done, LOL! There I was wiping down my tumble drier feeling all pleased with myself and couldn't wait to finish so I could cross it off my list!

Hi Doozer. HHC is half hour challenge, HHI is half hour ironing. Fuller explanation on the first post angel :)

And, OMG... it's so true!!! It5's ridiculously pleasing... but to be honest, we get precious little reward for housework, so to have someone tell us how well we're doing is such a plus!!

WTG by the way! you're doing really well. :j :j

    Fridge contents to follow!!! :D

    ETA : Thanks Hex I'll be a- browsing!!! :)

DS has been on the pc so I couldn't post but I am cleaning my dining room. Have also emptied diolls house and dismantled it and wiped it down. The box is in the loft BUT if I bring it down Iand fill it I will NEVER get it back up there - too heavy so am am mulling this one over... Have also rehung a picture I took down when mum and I decorated the hall/stairs/landing (in 2005!) It's not really a picture it's a collection of ephemera...very old (but unused) birthday cards that would date from the late 40s/early 50s by looking at the artwork...for ages 1 - 9. I hang them up there to stop them fading...
Anyway I am preparing lunch for my two and the mate that's turned up ... ex OH hated the kids having their mates round ...
I just welcome 'em and feed 'em - s'easy!

and then there are HHP (planning/preparation for the teachers etc) and HHK (half hour knittiing - my new one)

And isn't it WARM... back door open
Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY

  • I've gone from perky and happy to shaky and worn out. Have filled 2 bags with cardboard, one bag with paper, so a large area of floor by the front door is decluttered. I've also hoovered the bathroom as my intention was to hoover the whole place bit by bit and the bathroom has the clearest floor. The carpet was so dusty that it's a different colour now! And I've hoovered up all the cobwebs.
Am having a drink and some ham to try to get over my shakiness. I think I thought I was better than I am. Will try to do a bit more later. The hoover is not going away til the whole place is done even if it takes all week. If I leave it out DH might see it and remember that hoovering is his job!

    My list for today:
    Wash up –
Heel balm on heel AM PM MUST DO THIS HAVE FEET LIKE ELEPHANTS (ROUGH SKIN NOT HUGE FEET! :rotfl: )
Clean out cold bag – spilt cream in it

    Do washing WM on

Hi Floozie, just putting a Christmas tree here so that our official meeter and greeter spots you and gives you a warm welcome.
Don't worry if you feel overwhelmed to start with, just take it slow and things will get better. I still take babysteps, sometimes just do flying for five mins at a time, but it's amazing what a difference even a little bit can make. And then when that room comes round the next week it seems easier. :j Apart from my kitchen which always looks like we've fed a messy rugby team.

Doozer, I know what you mean! I can't wait to come on here and tell everyone what I've been doing! Sarah's so right, getting told well done for housework instead of someone grunting when you say "I did...today" is so great! :D
Pigpen, why do you feel sick? Have I missed someting? :A

I can't stop my hands from shaking. All I did was a bit of hoovering. I feel like I've run a marathon. :o
