I have a Nokia 6100 and a USB infra red device. I've never bothered with it before but realised I would love to use MSN Messenger/internet for my 2 x 4 hour train journeys a week.
So I have the equipment - phone, infra device and laptop. How do I go about setting it up?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I haven't used a Nokia 6100 before, but I used to use my mobile as a modem when I was away from home. Here's what I remember...
I assume that the usb infra red device plugs into a spare usb port on your pc (if you have a data cable for your phone I'd recommend using that instead). You'll need to switch the infra red option on on your phone. Then place it about two or three inches away from your infra red reciever.
If you're using Windows XP it should detect an infra red device (small icon in the system tray I think).
I've just checked Nokia's site, there are modem drivers and a PC suite for the 6100 here http://europe.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,4841,00.html
My connection was very, very slow - 9k I seem to remember.
