Car Insurance For 1 Week?

Is there any where you can buy car insurance on-line for a 1 week holiday in Ireland? preferably with road breakdown recovery as well?
i am currently with Direct line but want to get a few quotes.

I have done this in UK for a week. There was no way I could do it online. So ended up phoning around to get best price. Sorry for being no help!!!!

If you're taking your own car I would have thought that your insurance would cover you to drive in Ireland. Check under Territorial Limits in your policy booklet.

As for breakdown assistance, I'm sure that cover is available from the major providers. Call them or visit their websites.

i have just found this on the direct line website,
we are fully comprehensive insured with them!
it sounds like we are covered?

Am I insured when driving abroad?
Any Direct Line car insurance policy provides the level of cover in your schedule (e.g. comprehensive or third party, fire & theft) in the UK, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. It will also provide the minimum legal level of cover you need to drive in other countries that are members of the EU (for full details, see your policy booklet).
For payment of an additional premium, we can normally issue an extension of cover that provides you with the same level of cover that you have in the UK.
It’s always best to call us if you are thinking of driving your own car abroad, as you will need to confirm that we can provide cover in the country you are travelling to and whether we may need to issue a Greencard.
