Bank charges again! - with no notification

I recently discovered that I had been heavily charged for being £2 overdrawn over Christmas. Subsequently spoke to debt manager and informed him that I had had no written notification of the situation and so had not realised the situation , and that it was getting increasingly worse. The debt manager said he would look into why I had received no letters etc. and implied that I might have a case for not paying it all back or even any of the charges. Then three days later (13 February) five letters arrived in the post at the same time, the oldest dated 31st December, with no post codes. Not wanting to be cynical, but this looks surprisingly coincidental and I need to know what to do next. HELP!
