You know guys, I didnt know that about them. I avoid anything to do with Pedigree Chum for similar reasons and for what I discovered they put in the food - google for it - which made me feel ill.
Ive got mine on Royal Canin, Ive not heard anything about them?
I used to have James Wellbeloved for my old Rottie girl which seemed to suit her and Ive tried Burns and often give my boys treats that are Burns. Now and then Ill add a couple of spoonfuls of Denes or Naure diet wet food to give them a bit of interest. Otherwise they get scraps of meat from our dinners mixed with it - today they did well, 2 chicken breasts cooked for son and girlfriend but they came back with Indian takeaway so the boys had one of the breasts mixed with their dry food.
I tend to give mine a third of their food in the morning and the rest in the early evening.
Royal canine is made by pedigree (masterfood, mars)

Sorry, but most pet foods are tested on animals to some degree. I worked ( for a very short time ) for Pedigree with their dogs. The conditions and lives of these animals IMO is appalling. TBH it is very hard to find foods that have not been tested on animals
Nutro/JWB/RC are "Owned" by pedigree not made by them
Personally dont like Iams/or Yukanauba not because of the ethics, but because the products themselves are rubbish, but very expensive!
Burns is a very good food, as it Arden Grange ( both British ) and Orijen are superb. If you want a wet food, natures menu/harvest/diet are all fab0 -
I feed Orijen to the Dog & she does fine on it, tho getting her to eat is a nightmare somedays (She sees no reason to leave her warm bed to eat, whatever it is!)
I dunno of anywhere that tests on animals like Eukanuba do, but it's interesting to know Pedigree do too, I would never feed it but definitely won't now!0 -
I have 3 CKC's and they get on really well with Orijen, however my mum also has a CKCS and hers doesn't like it! James Wellbeloved is good too. Every dog is different and you will soon find the brand that will suit yours. With CKCS you have to be carefull about the foods that you use due to them being so prone to putting on weight especially after spaying.
I seriously would never feed my dogs Eukanuba due to reasons mentioned earlier in this thread.0 -
Just been to order some orijen for the boys - trying both adult ones and see how they get on. Had Arden Grange before and they werent keen.
Any more recommendations?
The Royal Canin did seem to help with the itching, but we shall see. I also give them Kronch salmon oil every day.0 -
Fish4Dogs is supposed to be good but i've never tried it, natures:menu if you use wet is excellent, Nature Diet (I think it's called) for wet also. Our Pet Shop go on about Nutro Choice but when I asked about it someone said to Google it & omg lol so no to that. Mine isn't keen on much at all, I don't think she likes to have to eat!0

I would feed CSJ if I was going to swap - everyone who has fed their stuff seems to rave about it, and its a small uk firm! Their stuff does look good quality for the price too.
