Checkout Item No 13 on this site http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=retractable+clothes+line&!!!!!googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=3050630113&ref=pd_sl_9nzesstti0_b

I have one of these retractable clothes lines installed in our bathroom and it's brilliant and tucks away tidily when not in use. I guess you could install it in a garage or any other room.
  • Ive just brought a JML Dri Buddi (yesterday) have used it twice already but just for my work uniform and my daughters uniform and I recommend it. Am doing a full load of wash now and will put it on this morning so will report back on my overall verdict later.

    Hello !
Just a quick warning. We ordered 2 PulleyMaids direct from PulleyMaid.com on 18th March 09. The money was banked immediately. Have been waiting for delivery till today 7 April. Their phone is on answerphone, they replied to our numerous emails days later with one message like "We'll look into it". It is not reassuring. If you want a PulleyMaid, buy it from them through Amazon or a big reliable Internet shop and/or pay through PayPal, as both will give you (some) assistance in case of non delivery. At this stage, we are not sure what to do !
    Any advice or suggestions ?

Cecilia - you could try contacting the Trading Standards department of your local authority. Tell them you're concerned they have banked your money but may be stalling because they're going out of business. Give them any order number/customer reference you may have. They may not be able to do anything but it's worth a try.

It sounds to me like you have only contacted the company to chase delivery and they have told you that they will look into it and have not asked them to cancel your order and to issue a refund. I have checked their website and the order was over the 14 days that they quote for delivery but only just. Unfortunately, it is a fact of mail order that things occasionally get delayed, go missing or get returned to the company for no apparent reason. I would give them a few days to find out what has happened to the product and if they can not resolve the issue, ask them directly for a replacement or refund, as any reputable company will oblige. After all, they are the best people to deal with the order and other agencies such as Paypal and trading standards should be a last resort as, if you only communicate with them and not the company, then you may find that it will take much longer to resolve the issue.

Also try to understand that mail order companies deal with hundreds or maybe thousands of customers per week and often people will spend a day or two chasseing something and then give up, even when it is within the allotted delivery time. They can not always know what’s happening at the customers end and if you sent one email chasseing delivery, and no follow up having given them time to resolve the issue, they may think that this issue has been resolved as you have not given them any reason to think otherwise.

Please update us, did this arrive in the end.
  • I bought a cheap clothes rail from Wilkinsons think it was about 5 pounds,, put wet clothes on hangers and then hang them up on here,,it takes a load at a time stood near an open window or even stood under a large parasol, garden canopy or awning outdoors if you have one.
For towels I use the hangers with clips on them and hang them in same way.
For bedding I hang over rail itself with no hangers.

I go to the laundrette and stick £1 to dry everything...

    Hi

this may sound sad but I have never been to a laundrette before. Do I just turn up with bags of wet washing ready for it to be dried? How many bags can I take at a time? also, do i just put the money in and turn the machine on and sit there and wait for it? Sorry to sound so thick but have recently discovered a laundrette round the corner and have been tempted to give it a go but haven't been brave enough!!

    Thanks!

Yes. you can just take your wet clothes in bags. Take as many as you like, although you may have to wait for a drier to become free if you have lots of wet washing and need more than one drier. Once in the drier, ply the machine with money, then sit and wait whilst it dries. You can just leave it, but personally I wouldn't.

how long do you reckon it would take to dry say a double bed set and 5 towels? also, how much do the machines cost or does it vary quite a lot? thanks!!

I'm sorry I have no idea to the cost or length of time. Best thing to do is take the washing, put a few coins in. Feel how dry it is when the money runs out, then put more money in if needed. Guessing the bed set might take about 20mins, the towels 40, but i am just guessing.
