    Have you looked to see how legal the letting agents tenancy agreement is? The letting agent I use bought their tenancy agreements off the internet ("cheaper than using a solicitor") and it isn't worth the paper it is written on. Not good for the landlord at all.

    I agree with the suggestion of using a solicitor to draw up your agreement. However, my sister use to be a legal secretary and her boss sent her to Smiths to buy one of their contracts and then to type it up again on the solicitors paper, for one of his clients:eek:
    RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

    Most LA will do a finders fee only and as you 'found' the tenant you could ask if they would reduce fee to cover doing checks and supplying agreement, inventory etc.

    Also why don't you ask your neighbours if they can supply a reference from their LL? I'm guessing your neighbours will have to give one months notice minimum, so you could agree with the neighbours that you are prepared to consider them but need to do credit checks and ref's first.

    That gives you both options and you can take the best one for you.
