When we saw Esure were giving £70 cashback if we bought their buildings & contents insurance through Quidco we went ahead on 1/11/08. We then noticed it was only tracking £30 but it said we needed to wait 45 days before getting in touch so we waited. We put in an earnings enquiry about the missing £40 & have just had this from Quidco...
'Hi, Your transaction has been declined due to competing cookies. A competing cookie is when another affiliate has been credited with the cashback. To reduce the risk of this happening in further transactions, please carry out the following steps: (1) Make sure your computer & browser are configured properly (2) Clear cookies & cache, disable pop-up, ad, & image-blockers. (3) Log into Quidco and click on the merchant link on the Quidco site. (4) Do not use voucher or other discount codes unless they came from the Quidco site. (5) Do not use "refer a friend" programs or promotional links from other sites. (6) Complete your purchase online, all in one session. This transaction will not be able to be reinvestigated by the appropriate affiliate network because the cash back as been rewarded to another publisher. Kind Regards Quidco Member Support'
We use Quidco a fair amount & nothing like this has ever happened before with other companies we've bought through. Needless to say we're not best pleased with the answer.

Mine also tracked at the wrong rate on Oct 26th. Did the £30 that tracked in your account ever get to show as 'validated'?
The answer I got to my enquiry for the missing £40 was:This transaction should update itself to the correct rate and pay around 3-4 months after the policy start date. Kind regards Steve, Quidco0 -
I bought mine through Cashbackkings, tracked as two transactions and I thought they would get corrected i.e. buildings and contents insurance showing separately at lower rate but eventually paying at the combined rate. It was due last month and I queried delay, just found out they have rejected one of them! How can that make sense as I bought them as a single transaction. So I think the problem might eSure not quidco. I won't go with eSure again that 4sure.Sell £1500

Just noticed that Quidco have updated their Esure T&C which now means that transactions will track at a lower rate and then update themselves to the full rate 75 days after the policy activation.
As to whether the problem lies with Esure or not - Quidco state:The cashback rate is offered by Quidco; any cashback queries should be taken up with the site, not esure0 -
Just as well I kept the link to my thread as I've not been notified anyone had posted.
BARNABEE, Esure did VALIDATE £30, yes.
Well, after complaining about Quidco's answer I got this on 16/2 at 13:15:13
Hi, Thank you for your Enquiry. I am afraid that the affiliate network fully investigated your enquiry and found that in this case the transaction was credited to source other than Quidco this was possibly because you had competing cookies on your computer and This does not necessarily mean that another cashback site was used. Competing cookies can happen when you fail to clear your cookies, Have free software (including 3rd party browser toolbars) That relies on advertising, use of serch engines to visit the merchant or visiting the merchant directly between Tracking, Retrieval of Quotes created directly or through comparison sites for insurance companies. To name a few. Unfortunately when the network returns this type of rejection we are powerless to re-investigate. To help prevent this in the future we would recommend that you look at our help pages http://www.quidco.com/help/123 . Sorry for any disappointment caused. Kind regards, Stephen. THEN MAYBE A BREAKTHROUGH...
I got this at 13:16:34 (NOTE TIME COMPARED WITH TIME OF PREVIOUS POSTING !)
I have looked into this further and we are now investigating this as it may have been marked up as this in error. Once we have a response we will let you know. Kind Regards, Stephen. Quidco Member Support0 -
I bought ESURE car insurance through quidco in AUg 2008, it only got validated after 2 months wait, in Oct 2008, still waiting for payment. Another friend of mine, went for Lloyds TSB car insurance through quidco and was promptly paid after 3-4 months. I am still waiting and interacting with quidco to get ESURE cashback, so frustrating ... I will never buy car insurance from ESURE as I don't think this is a quidco issue, I have got other cashbacks paid on time by quidco. If ESURE is not keeping their promise on cashback, what would happen in case of any insurance claim etc. I will stay away from them in future.0

I've purchased Contents, Buildings, & 2 x Motor insurance through various companies on Quidco over the past 3 years.
Esure is the only company I have had any problem with. The transactions been validated since August 2008, but they continue to not pay out.
Theres plenty of other insurers out there, next year Esure simply don't get my business.0 -
I sent a ticket yesterday for payment my car insurance through Sheilas Wheel, bought in August 08 and still outstanding. I think it is a general insurance problem, and now the financial state of the entire insurance industry isn't exactly helping...0

Are you sure its nothing to do with the Fact that Esure own Sheilas Wheeels...0 -
B**ger - I forgot that! Quidco emailed me to say they are chasing it. You think there are lots of choices out there, and they all turn out to be in bed with each other!!0

One things for sure I won't be renewing via Esure, or their assoc. company, Sheila's Wheels.0
