Bankruptcy listing

Hi, I will be going bankrupt in the next couple of weeks but have a major problem. Basically I don't get on with most of my family after they threatened my 2 year old son ( nice people eh!!) and I now live away from them with my wife and children. They have no idea where we live and I'd like to keep it that way. Once I am bankrupt however all they have to do is look on the insolvency site and they will be able to see my address etc. Is there any way around this?

You could ask for a stay of publication from papers from the judge at the time of bankruptcy...BUT these are only usually give when their is considerable risk to life etc worth a try though....although the insolvency site is a different matterWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

No. The insolvency site is a public record and you will be listed there. But do you really think that they would read it? Most people are not even aware that it exists. It will remain there for 3 months after your discharge and will be updated with your current address should you move within that time.
You will also be listed on the Gazette - you will remain searchable here forever more. But it lists the address that you go BR at - so will not change if you move.
You are also listed in the local paper - this you can ask not to happen. You will need to explain to the judge the reasons behind your request and its up to him then.0 -
Hello Philn - I thought it was just the paper you could avoid?? Don't have an issue being corrected (again!) though.0

unless you have a really uncommon name, if they have no idea where you live it would be unlikely they would know it's you anyway0

Thats my only problem. My name is made up and I am the only one in the world with it. Great to be unique, not so great if you don't want to be found!
Also, have you any aliases? You would be listed as John Smith, aka John Smithe, aka John Smythe and so on - if you used other names at all. They may be able to whittle you down that way.0 -

you are correct (having no end of PC troubles tonight & for some reason my voice software is missing bits & bobs off messages)....it is only the local rags etc you can ask for a stay of publication....still appears in the Gazette & online though
Although cash in the attic's Lorne Spicer is listed on the insolvency site with her married name! (no other names or aliases listed for "personal reasons")We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
I agree with skylight though.....the insolvency site is pretty much unknown unless in bankruptcy circles! the chances of them knowing will be pretty slimWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
