Best way to fix interest rate for a year or two

Hi Guys,

What is the best way to fix the interest rate for savings right now? Are there ISA that offer fixed terms (with transfer in allowed) or do you need to go for some sort of bond?

And is it possible to wrap a fixed interest bond in an ISA or something similar?

Yes, there are some fixed rate ISAs. Most will let you transfer in initially (but won't let you continually add to it).

A fixed rate ISA effectively is a fixed interest bond in an ISA. In any event, you are limited to the annual allowances for ISAs..

Thanks very much for your reply.

Are cash ISA the best way to maximise my returns with near instant access, or are there other tax free optiosn out there that I'm not aware of. I've only ever used cash ISAs but I here people often talk about bonds and what not and I'm not sure if they offer better rates or something.
