Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes...

Ok, I am travelling from London to Great Yarmouth on Monday 4th May (yes I know a bit away, lol)... There are 2 adults and 2 children aged 15 and 3 travelling...

Firstly do I have to buy the 3 year old a ticket, I have looked on line and cannot seem to find this info. All I can find is that the 15 year old, thankfully is still a child.

I already have the friends and family card, but the price for that date is insane £70 Where as usually it costs £20.50 for the prebook in advance thing..

Does anyone know of any ways to get this insane cost down?

I looked at the coach already but costs about the same price and the journey is twice as long. lol.

It's an insane price because you've picked Mayday Bank Holiday.

It's an insane price coz the cheapies haven't been released yet - give it another week and they should be there (1 May is the 'horizon' at the moment)

Hi thanks... I knew when I booked a short break that the prices would be dearer, just never throught they would be around £50 dearer. lol.

I will hold out another week or so, and just hope that the cost comes down to something a bit more reasonable.

    THanks for replying.

Oh - and you don't need a ticket for the 3 year old. S/he travels free.

And I take back what I said about the tickets not being available - they ARE for return later in the week. So either it's a bank holiday, and there aren't any cheap tickets because it's busy, or there are engineering works expected and the cheap tickets not sorted out yet.

An on the day ticket will be £65 return total, so that's the worse case.

National Express East Anglia are not open for reservations from Saturday 2 May to Monday 4 May.

Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place

Looks like you may not be travelling by train cheaply. Next option would be National Express Coaches, but get theone to Norwich and then catch the X1 Firstbus or A47 Anglain service to Yarmouth - It'll save you 1/2 an hour and increase the number of services offered

The really cheap fares do not require a railcard (£6 one way)....try searching excluding the railcard option.

EDIT - Forget that - just checked - no cheaper!

Even the Anglia Plus One Day Pass Rover ticket http://www.nationalexpresseastanglia.com/train_tickets/ticket_types/rangers_and_rovers doesnt help....
