Its a built-in dishwasher so how to you get to the waste pipe?
I presume it is blocked.

Take the bottom tray out you will see a perferated grid on the bottom of the dishwasher, this should just pull out, there should be a strainer in there, chances are theres food waste blocking the waste outlet, failing that the waste water discharge pump may have be kaput.0

I have an oval perforated grid-i have removed that-plus the filter thingy-both emptied. Oh has just tried to unblock the drain from ouside-a bit of gunge came out.just running the machine yet again..0

Try running the machine empty with a half cup of vinegar and the hottest setting to clear the drain or use soda crystalsSaving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

if the oval filter had food etc in it the chances are thats your problem
same thing happened to ours yesterday.

it was only yesterday i was wondering if i could use soda crystals to 'clean' the dishwasher - looked in supermarket for dishwasher cleaner and it was really expensive
i wasnt sure if it would damage the machine (mind you i use them in the washing machine). would it be ok to put vinegar and soda crystals in at the same time?
sorry for slightly hijacking the thread hollydays
cheers,
lokiit's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0 -
I usually have soda crystals in,but I am out at the moment-hmm.it's worth a try.We tried bleach, but i guess that gets diluted,I also have some industrial strength bleach-but that might melt it!!
I very rarely call out repair people- I realise how much you can acheive yourself with a bit of common sense.Off to buy the soda crystals tommorrow.
If i have to call outsomeone it will be an absolute last resort-I hope the pump hasn't packed in-mind you this dishwasher has given sterling service, god rest its soul..0 -
I used soda crystals and got a bit of bubbling,so I thought it was a blockage, also the drain started grumbling in the sink, but despite a friend trying a plunger,it has emptied once, then alarming most times,as though its intermittant.
I had used a different washing tablet recently, and the dispenser hasn't been opening like it usually does.Damn! I think i am going to have to call out a reparer..stomps off in disgust..0 -
I know the Bosch dishwashers have an internal collection area between the washing area and the exit pipe.
We had an intermittent problem where the D/W would not drain at times but would at other times.
The problem was a macadamia nut shell that had got past the filters and sat in this water containment area. When the D/W was on then depending upon whether the shell fell flat or roundside down would determine whether the D/W emptied or not.0 -
ITs a Diplomat-and we think there is a possibility of some broken glass may have caused a problem0
