YBS transfers in and out

Recently received confirmation of my YBS account being fully opened (had to send ID off).
Have just logged in with intent of making first payment in. Unlike other accounts, it doesn't seem to have the concept of initiating payment from a nominated linked account (can't recall whether I specified one or not, but I'm sure I did: guess I would have had to at least for withdrawl purposes).
When I went to request making payment in, its asking me for debit card instructions. First time I've ever had this on an account.
Anhyone with YBS account who has found a different mechanism for doing this e.g. how about initiating payment form my online CA with FD?
I can't find anything which gives me a sort code for my YBS account either, which again seems strange.

Your questions are answered in the account T&C's...

To transfer in, the sort code is 60-92-04
Your YBS account is 10 digits - lose the last 2 (which are usually 20)
see http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/online/internetsaver/other_terms.html
But I would recommend paying in with a debit card - you earn interest faster.0 -
Have just uncovered the necessary communication from YBS in large pile of unopened snail mail.
Thanks for your replies. Why is debit card faster? I guess from this YBS is not part of Faster Payments.
Anyway, have now done payment from debit card and one by direct transfer from FD. Be interesting to see if one is credited before the other.0 -
I find YBS very slow with withdrawal, it usually takes about 5 days to reach my account. With Nationwide, , it is usually 3 days, but now NW has faster payment. I do not know whether it is quicker to transfer with debit card and go through NW for paster payment.0

Umm, just thinking I suppose one could have a YBS Access Saver and transfer money into that, which would be faster. Then go to a branch and withdraw upto £1000 in cash and upto £150,000 by cheque from the Access Saver. If cash and you pay it over the counter to you bank, you can draw on it immediately. If cheque, well not sure if it would be treated as a cleared item or not. Means a lot of legwork and it assumes you have branches locally.0 -

No, it goes via the Visa or Maestro network.
Nothing whatsoever to do with Faster Payments.Ethical moneysaver0 -
