Internet Explorer question - opening full page

Hi people,

Just a quick question. There are various ways to access IE, from the desktop shortcut, from the shortcut on the start menu, or when you click on a link in an email etc. My question is how do I make it so each of these opens IE maximised?

Thanks
My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.

Thanks - the microsoft link doesn't relate to this problem as I want the window to open maximised by default.
    The second link doesn't work?

  • This may not be the most technical method but it seem to work for me. If you open IE, maximise the screen, and then just exit the window, the next time you click IE, it should open full screen (At least it does for me). It also works the other way aswell, so if the last screen you close down is maximised/minimised, thats how the next wondow will open.

The only thing that this doesnt seem to work with is if I right click a link and choose open link in a new window, which always opens in a non-maximised window.

    Hope this helps.

    sorry... it linked here:

noru2, Follow the instructions below exactly and your problem should be solved.
Right click the shortcut icon for IE next to the Start button, choose Properties, change it from 'normal' to 'maximized'. Now open it.
Now right click any link on the page, choose Open In New Window....don't maximize it....instead, use the mouse to resize it to what you want it to be.
Now close the FIRST window you opened, and then close the new one you just resized.

Reopen IE from the shortcut icon again, and all windows from now on will be the size you chose and created.

Create a new shortcut to IE on your desktop, right click on the shortcut and select properties, in the 'run' dropdown list select Maximised.
Or create a new shortcut by right clicking on your desktop and create new shortcut, Point the shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe", before you click finish in the text box type the following at the end of the program path ' -k' e.g "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe" -k and click finish. The latter will run IE in kiosk mode - totally full screen, to get out of it hit ALT + F4.

    Hope this helps.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
