I would say the temperature of the hot water has been keeping the level of germs down. They must have been there for some time. Cold water also keeping the .......hmm that's probably enough! We watch too much CSI.

Thanks for your help. Another fun day of crawling around the loft - wouldn't be so bad but I don't have my own loft access (flats) and the communal access is out my front door, round the corner, along the car park, in another front door and up two flights of stairs! Then a long walk/clamber up in the loft (it's a an old hospital building circa 1910) to get back over the top of my flat - not ideal if you realise you've forgotten something!
And I only went up there yesterday to see whether the loft is insulated! (it isn't!)0 -
I agree, sterilise. The ingredient of the puriclean, and the Fernox system recommended by Canucklehead is the same, Sodium Dichlorolsocyanurate, but obviously doesn't have the test kit that Canuckleheads does. 400g tub treats 60g.0
