Carers allowance

Hi, I receive carers allowance and my son receives DLA high care /low mobility rate. I have read on the forums about a £60 one off payment for people who received the £10 xmas bonus. I have claimed CA for 7 years but have never received a xmas bonus,my son has got it each year. Does this mean I wont get the £60 either? ( I assume my son will ) Thanks.

you should have been getting £10 bonus you are entitled to the £60 ring/write you are entitled.
  • Hello minimad1970,

I'd have a check of your bank statements for around the start of December, and double check.
The £10 christmas bonus, will be paid automatically with your carers allowance, and not as a separate entry.
Likewise the £60 bonus should be automatic.
If you don't have the increased carers payment in early December, phone the carers dept.

    Hello hutchy,

Anyone that receives the £10 christmas bonus, will automatically receive a one off £60 bonus payment, sometime between January and March. This is part of the November Budget. DLA and Carer's Allowance are both qualifying benefits,
