Intern help

Not sure if this is the right place but I'll give it a try. Does anyone know what a "college intern non-exempt" is. I am thinking about trying for a placement at Cisco where I found this. Not too sure whether UK students can apply or not, have searched the Cisco website but no luck. Hope someone can help me. Thanks
Waddle you do eh?

poppy8, i can only assume that they want no 'work experience students at college (when your 15-16yrs old)' to apply for positions there.
but, this is only a guess! sorry

It depends on what business area you want to be in, but Cisco are very difficult to get a placement with. They mainly take on US students. My son has been with Cisco in UK since 1995 and is well up in his sector (software), and he could not get a placement for his sister in software, so much of what they are doing in his office is "hush-hush" apparently!!!0

Hello again poppy 8, have asked my son if he knows what it means but he doesn't. However he does know that Cisco will not apply for a visa for a non American student to work in the US, and that the only office in Europe that does summer placements is Amsterdam, but that they only take students who they intend to offer a job to once they graduate.
Seems a bit odd to me, how do they know who they want to offer a job to if they don't try them out!!???0
