  • Hi wafoo, someone tried to steal our car on 25. 1. 09 but was disturbed, but not before they had caused a lot of damage. The engineer assessed the car on Thursday 5th Feb and got the settlement cheque in the post today.
  • Son had a crash on the 6th Jan, car was inspected on the 14th and verbally told it was a write off , second inspection on the 16th by the other drivers insurance  who also agree it is a write off

insurance companies now debating as there is a £200 difference in valuations etc thus causing a delay in settlement.

keep chasing, without quotations for repairs or an inspection a settlement cant be reached

Generally the engineer will drive around and visit the garages in each town once or twice a week. They then have to write their reports up and send them to the insurers usually a couple of days later. However some of the Insurers approved garages often have an inhouse engineer or have technology linking them to the Insurers so they can upload pictures of the damage and an engineer at the Insurance Company evaluates them.

Things are taking a little longer as the insurers have so many claims to deal with however it does seem to be taking to long in your case.

    Which company are you with?
