Income Protection Insurance

Hi
My girlfriend has been working on a temporary contract for around 9 months now at a local company. Initially she was covering maternity leave through an agency & then was offered the contract directly with the company.
However, as you can imagine I'm a little worried with the current economic situation that they may look to lay her off first with her being only temporary.
What I'm asking is that would she be eligible for an income proection policy with her being only a temporary contractor?
I've tried looking through the FAQs on the main insurers & I'm unable to find anything
Thanks
Liam
