Hi All
Hope you can help, My boyfirend and I are planning on getting a two bed flat within the next month. I would like some advice about the simplest and cost effective ways to manage utilies bills. Who would be the best suppliers and whether its best to pay by DD. I have read a few of the threads and its seems the are a number of tariffs. Ideally a tariff that works for both night and day for both electricty and gas. Also how much do others pay for a two bed in london?
all replies would be welcome

Welcome to MSE! You will have to use the existing utility supplier for the first month, under a 'deemed contract'. Then take readings and use a price comparison site to compare prices. The best tariff for you depends upon your usage patterns and region by paying by DD and/ or having an online account usually gives you the best deal.
There are loads of threads on this board from people worried about their bills, or wanting to know 'normal' usage for their first flat so have a quick read through threads from the last week or so.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
The cheapest tariffs from what I can see are monthly DD online versions. The first thing you should do is check what heating the flat has, gas rads or electric storage, this is before you move in. If its the latter an Economy 7 electricity tariff will most likely work out cheapest for you. So make sure its on this before you move in.
As to the cheapest, nothing beats a couple of hours on the internet entering your new postcode in the relevant sites. Then a pen, paper and a calculator is all you need.
At least you wont need your heating on for the house warming, body heat should do you.:beer:0 -
Lol, very true about the party hehe. Where would i put in my post code to work out costs on internet, if that made sense!0
