I'm a landlord.
First off advise him of the problem, he may have an emergency insurance cover in place, or a waterboard cover for the drains. I had for a while.
If he hasn't, he still needs to know.
As to the cost, I would expect if you had blocked it, for you to cover the unblocking, and the excess for any work inside, after a claim from his building cover.
If it wasn't you, eg, neighbours backing up, I'd expect to cover it myself.0 -
well landlord came out unblocked manhole then left, thinking everything was fixed i went in washed my hands over bath but its still happening, does this mean theres a blvokage inside the house or could it be blocked futher down the garden?Wins for 2011: ........................

So then does the same thing happen when you flush the toilet, ie does it overflow?0

If it was blocked at some point past the manhole cover - and it sounds like it was - then this may have created another blockage further up or the originial blockage may not be clear. To prevent any blame being laid at your door do not put any 'ladies items' down the toilet, wrap them and use a bin. Also never put any animal fats down the kitchen sink - the fat left after cooking sausages for example. This will solidify in the pipes - I have seen it and it was seriously disgusting!
Why are you washing your hands over the bath?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
