Thanks for your advice.
The 105 Hire Purchase is for the car, that run's for another 2 years.
The 105 for mobile phones is for 3 phones. One contract ends 26th March, another 27th June and then the next 18/04/10. Not sure how I can reduce the tariffs when we are on contracts.
We have freeview built into our TV so will get hubby to ring Sky to cancel (it's in his name).
Our grocery bill is huge and we will have to seriously work on that. Our month runs 20th - 19th so will be keeping a spending diary of food and petrol. We do approx 12k miles a year in the car. I don't drive but hubby uses car for work and also picks me up.
Our buildings and contents insurance is not due to run out until end of September. Can I cancel and change to someone else before then?
We have buried our head in the sand for a long time, and this has come to a head by the fact that both of our jobs are at risk. We are at each others throats and I can't sleep and am tearful all the time.
Has anyone out there had 30k debt and made some headway towards clearing it without a DMP or IVA???? Don't really want to go down that route.
The 60 on Entertainment is my daughter's. She is training in all aspects of dance as this is what she wants to do when she is older. We have recently cut her classes as it was costing 40 per week to fund and now this is down to 15.
Bless her it's her birthday on Sat and she has said that she doesn't want anything cos we can't afford it. At Xmas she told Santa she didn't think she would get her violin as there was a credit crunch.
Would really like a debt buddy or to know of any good challenges where we can encourage each other all the way to financial freedom.
Thanks every1 Kat x0 -

Check your terms - you may be able to give it up with no further payment if push comes to shove. Not what you want but worth knowing the situation.

You may well be able to reduce your tariffs even if you cannot cancel them.

Is hubbie reclaiming his expenses?

You need to sit down together and look at your statement of affairs together. Your situation is much better than many, even if it is an uncomfortable place to be at the moment. Others have great spreadsheets on the wall showing what is coming off which debt etc.

Hi it is not entertainment then but other kid's activities.

Hi
Loads of folks here have gone in for major debt busting and succeeded. Have a look at jacks xxx (if she does not come up on search try honey bun).
it will be worth joining www.freecyle.org as that is the sort of palce that an old violin that needs a new owner is quite capable of turing up.
Get hubbie to put all the data into the snowball on www.whatsthecost.com and see how to pay the money off most effectively. Then get him to put the Sky payment in and see how much impact that has.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
