DLA Re-Claim

  • Certainly the scale of the forms don't lend themselves to easy-fill-in; especially as it would seem the answers required are not those one would normally put. I've been told, by an independent source, that the evidence I provided was more than adequate. It makes one wonder if there is a 'secondary' objective in so many refusals on the first and review stages.

Not being disabled-aware could be one reason?

  • I suppose it all depends upon whose desk your renewal form lands on and whether anyone gets back with requested information in a timely fashion. My renewal was turned around in just over 4 weeks...:T

I put in my husbands DLA renewal just after the new year and we had the decision letter today. It was roughly 7 weeks that it took them. In this case his condition has become worse since the first claim and he has now been awarded the same rate of middle care and low mobility for an indefinate period.
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

Just had my statement explaining why my claim & review were refused. It just repeats what the original letters said. Statement also says I've missed the deadline for appeal.
My GL24 went off early February, stating my intention to appeal - pending the statement. Never received, luckily I have a certificate of posting....

Looking at all the similar comments on these boards, one wonders if the DWP are deliberately being awkward?

Right - spoiling for a fight at round 3 ......

Frak. *cursing* I am struggling to get my forms finished for renewal, if I filled them in by type I wouldn't have enough space but it hurts to do it by hand... I hate FMS and I hate these stupid forms. They make me feel so bad about myself. :(
