FSA/Banking code etc query

Options
I've been having a few issues with GE Money being arsey with me. So, I decided to pay off a chunk of the balance we owe them using a Barclaycard 0% cheque.

However, GE Money have returned the cheque, accompanied by a badly photocopied letter which states that they're unable to accept credit card cheques as payment! I've carefully scrutinised their T&Cs and nowhere does it state this

I'm not able to get in touch with GE Money about this until Monday, but I fear I'm wasting my time calling them anyway. I basically want to know what their basis for refusal is, given that the cheques are specifically to transfer balances from credit cards, store cards and those other things, which we have with GE Money...oh yes. Loans

Any thoughts please?

Write a Barclaycard cheque to yourself then write a personal cheque to GE Money. Problem solved....

  • Well, yes, I appreciate there are ways around it but my question was regarding GE Money refusing the cheque in the first place...
