Bought through 3rd party

Options
Hiya,

I have a secured load which i bought PPI on around october 2005.

My problem is twofold:

1) It was sold through first national, but the loan itself is with GE Money, and when i tried to reclaim before (think i tried about 12 months ago), they told me sorry, we didn't sell it!

2) We tried to claim for my wife being made redundant, but they wormed their way out of that one (typical!), and they also used that to say "you made a claim, so the policy cannot be cancelled"

Is this true even though they never paid out a penny?

Thanks for your help!

I don't believe this to be true, why did they not payout? This may be a reason for mis selling.

Yes I agree with you Pinknico, there seems to be a good case here.

Go for it thorpyuk, if you need any help with the reclaiming side of things, let us know and good luck.;)

  • Hi There

My Mum Had A Secured Loan With Ppi Which She Took Out Around 1998 Which The Final Payment Has Just Been Made In January 2009.

Her Problem Is Similar To Yours:

    1) It Was Sold By First National By A Kitchen Company, But The Loan Was With Ge Money, And When I Tried To Reclaim It About A Month Ago, They Told Me It Was Not Down To Them, They Didn't Sell It To Her And To Contact The Company She Bought The Kitchen Off Even Though They Received The Money!

Can Anyone Advise Me On How I She Take This Matter Forward.

    Thanks

  • Hiya,

I'm going to try and go for this again, but have a question:

Should i claim against first national (who sold me the loan) or GE money (the company who provided the loan?)

    Hi hun
Its known to write to the one who arranged the loan, but many are writing to 2 parties now if there were both broker and lender involved, just to cover themselves, if you do this make the both parties aware, good luck.;)
