What cover? What excess? Protected NCB? What NCB do you have? Business use? legal cover as standard?
A couple of hundred savings good. Who were your last insurers?0 -
Good on your Gord115...RBS need all the money they can get at the moment....

I could have saved a third off of my renewal premium on my car insurance, however I chose not to, simply because when I checked the detail, it was clear that although they were both for fully comprehensive insurance, they were not like for like cover/extra's..
Insurance is a service, not a tin of beans, cheapest is not always the best option.0 -
Well said Inactive, the cover and the service is not the same from company to company, Insurance is one of the things that you should not buy on price along but weigh up the cover and the service. Should the unthinkable happpen which after all is what insurance is for and I have seen some of the most amazing sets of circumstances that lead too freek claims then you need to know your policy will pay out efficiently should it be a valid claim.
If we bought everything on price why do some people buy BMWs instead of KIAs and why do some of us pay extra to shop in M&S or Waitrose rather than Lidl?
Like I said weigh up what you are buying, when getting quotes on the internet check the TOTAL EXCESS and any restrictions so you know what you are buying. Have a look at reviews of the company eg Swifts reviews on MSW
If you have queries post it on MSE and someone will try and help you.0 -
Indeed, the cheapest quote that I got was from Swinton, but when I did a bit of research on Swinton, it was blatantly obvious why they were cheap.0

Just insured both our cars £207 and £215 with churchill.
Saved me a couple of hundred quid from last year,I don't know if they're cheaper for everyone but give 'em a try.
I'll see if they go up this year.0 -

Fully comp,
£500 excess,
No protected NCB (I think it's a con due to previous experience),
SDP & commuting.
No legal cover(get it for free from Union)
Wife has 5 years NCB, I have 2.
Also got 2nd car reduced to £186 when i mentioned I'd already insured one car with them.(multi car discount)0 -
do they do cash back? quidco etc0

In 2007 Churchill were the cheapest by far for my bike insurance. On renewal in 2008 their premium took a huge hike so I dumped them. I suspect they rely on lazy people not checking the renewal premium, so it will be interesting to see what yours is next year.0

Pretty much all insurance companies/brokers do that, hence the good offers for new customers...0
