IceSave Transfer

please help I had an icesave isa account of which I paid in £2100 of this years allowance. Am I aswell starting a fresh with new isa account or do I transfer the £2800 from the previous years plus the reamining £1500 left of this year???

  • You can only open one cash ISA in any one tax year. However, you can transfer your Icesave "compensation" that you have received into a new ISA using the certificate that you have received from the FSCS. This allows you to retain the tax free status of your Icesave ISA monies providing that you reinvest on/before 5th April. Once transferred, you could top this up to £3,600 on/before 5th April to get the full 2008/9 allowance. If your previous year's ISA monies were with Icesave, these can be reinvested in the same way at the same time.
