Insurance costs go up during a recession

RAC insurance. I had a quote that was valid for 90 days with a confirmatory e mail. When I went to buy it they just uped the price by £40. On phoning the sales team I was advised that what they sent out in writting was not true. All I can say is that an organisation as large as the RAC should not sent out quotes valid until a date in the future if they have no intention of honouring them. I would avoid the RAC like the plague!0
