As a house seller, would you take/exclude the fitted carpets?

Maybe an odd question, but just curious...
We are selling our house and just received an offer asking for the "fitted carpets" (we have no rugs or non-fitted carpeting) and the curtains to be included in the sale/offer price.
I always thought (maybe wrongly) that FITTED carpets were generally included... would anybody here NOT include the fitted carpets in the sale of their house?

I would dread to think how much effort ripping them up and putting them in a skip would cost...
Carpets yes, curtains no.
There's a chance a curtain might fit another window...0 -
Fitted carpets can, in theory, be taken by the seller but rarely are. Many years ago when I was buying my first flat the sellers were going to take the bedroom carpet because it was a newish carpet and a very large room so it would have probably fitted easily into a room in their new house. As it turned out it was a foam backed carpet that had been laid onto a concrete floor with no underlay so the foam had stuck to the concrete!

I would take my current carpets as they are only 6 months old lolKavanne

I wouldn't bother taking carpets or curtains moving house is a good opportunity to start again, not that I plan to move LOL....0

I can definitely understand curtains (although since ours our "made to measure" for fairly non-standard windows, I don't see a lot of point...), but carpets...
I have certainly learnt something and the next house we offer on, will be making sure that the inclusions include the "fitted carpets" too

If your sales particulars didn't say the carpets were included, I would imagine the purchasers are just making double sure you're not going to take them with you.
Did your sales particulars specifically mention whether or not they were included, or did you just assume that everyone else would assume they were?0 -

Good point (bless your MIL, poor thing).
I have just looked at the particulars and it actually specifically mentions "fitted carpets" in each applicable room (carpets are 5 years old - new with the house - and in excellent condition). I guess that the buyer is just making doubley sure...
