For a sale price of 50p then maybe. Otherwise NOT.
Even if they built yours you'd be living on a building site/unfinished building site/abandoned building site for years.0 -
Off plan doesn't do it for me. You don't know what the view looks like from your house, you don't know how wide the street is, where your visitors park and most importantly how the house feels. fair enough you can often view the same house type elsewhere but yours will have a different feel because the orientation will be different. Will you have a sunny back garden etc? How big will the garden be (this changes from house to house) and what will the lie of the land be - flat or sloping? Will the house be overlooked and by how many - this is new build land, we're often talking a few.
Naff all to do with the current climate just that I don't think you can buy a house off the the peg. I'd rather see where it would be in relation to everything.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Its very dangerous doing that at the moment, what if the builder goes bust while building. many have been caught out this way and in trouble.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

Given the number of builders walking away from projected developments, the number going into administration, or putting developments on hold when part-completed, I'd say - No, no, no. Do not buy off-plan.

The answer lies in the famous scene in Sexy Beast - where Sir Ben Kingsly is talking to Ray Winstone....0

God no. Even if they do start it, they might not finish.0

No, too risky plus the various reasons given above.0

i would also say "no" for the above reasons... also, despite the builders assurances, they may change the future phases and building plans, ie convert houses to flats, reduce parking spaces etc...Win Dec 2009 - In the Night Garden DVD : Nov 2010 - Paultons Park Tickets :0
