Should I go to the CSA?

Well, he turned up with cash (nearly all of it, just £10 short), and we had a pretty one-sided conversation, the idiot can't even look at me when he's being monosyllabic, winker!
Anyway, the upshot is, that he's put the maintenance for DD into his SOA for court (apparently now not being made bankrupt they're going for cash from his wages, if they get what I think they wanted, I can't see how he can keep afloat, but luckily not my problem).
He's also promised to now pay into my bank account on the day he gets paid rather than waiting until he sees us (which can often be very late in the month).
So.....for now, unless he c*cks it up, I'm not going to go do the CSA route (also because I think he's giving slightly more than 15% of salary.....but hey, why the heck shouldn't he?! Thanks to him, I'm now trying desperately to sell my house as it's a total millstone. But that's another story, lol).
Thanks to EVERYONE who posted xx
That's good news Kittikins, hopefully things will stay nice and easy for you. I had a call from CSA today to say that had made contact with him and they were hopeful of having the direct debit set up next month, so I am pleased that I made the decision to contact them.0 -
Really pleased for your Sprogs, sounds like the CSA are handling it nice, quickly and smoothly - which I'll bear in mind if he starts messing me around. Well done

Its a good time to apply for a new case to the CSA. Since benefit cases no longer automatically come to them backlogs have fallen dramatically and your case will be dealt with swiftly with maintenance flowing in a matter of weeks.0

Planet Earth calling Ashington10 - weeks, try months or even years, if you don't phone every day they do nothing (tried and tested the patience method).0 -

ashington10,
Do you work for the csa? Or maybe another government department?
Just wondering0 -

Not my experience LizzieS, although I appreciate every case is different and mine is fairly straightforward. I applied on Monday, phoned them on Friday morning with some more information and they had actually made contact with my ex by the end of the day. I have been impressed so far. May all change if I don't get any money next month though!0 -

Sadly there's no flying pig smiley.
The only way the backlog will have come down is if they've reopened their famous lift shaft. However, if they have, the case will, of course, not be dealt with at all.Information is not knowledge.

As I previously posted, mine is a NEW case which is also what ashlington10 was referring to I believe, and in the space of 5 days they have taken my details, contacted my ex, given me a case number and the date of commencement of my case and an expectation for monies to be collected next month. Pretty good going I think.
I fully appreciate that some cases may not be straightforward and that there may be a backlog and other people may not be as impressed with the CSA as I am in my first week of dealing with them. I expect every case is different, some will be simple and some more complex and may have dragged on for months or years looking at some of the posts.
I hope that mine will be simple and that I do get a result next month - I will keep you updated!0 -

All new cases start off well, if it helps mine did too - something to do with Government coffers having to fund delays up to the point of first contact with nrp
My case is extremely straightforward, so I should have had the payments sorted ages ago!0 -

Maybe your ex was fully compliant and they had no problems with the computer for you. Sadly this is not the case for many!! However, we are on a discussion forum which focusses on CSA issues, so it is unlikely that we will find many who are happy - although there will be thousands of cases who were perfectly straightforward!0
