  • From what I've read if you don't have a golden circle ticket then you will need to get pretty much right to the front for a decent view, but I've never been so I don't know how true this is. I'm sure someone can shed some light?

I'm not going, I don't think, if I can't get Golden Circle tickets (but I saw Foo in Dec so its okay). I've missed all the pre-sale GC's but I might try for one tomorrow morning if I can (not at home then, but will phone I guess).

Either way it'll be brilliant even if all you can see is small people on stage. Dream line up, and the Foo's are amazing live.

About taking food, I've no idea I'm afraid, but I don't see why not. I know they wouldnt' let us take cans of beer into Leeds festival..but we had no food in our bag, lol. Just cans.

Assuming its the same set up for Queen last year, if you dont have GC tickets you will be a minimum of 100-150m from the stage, it's not a small area this GC!
    Waddle you do eh?

Well, im gonna be going early, just to guarantee a good close spot! And i went to the december earls court gig, got their EXTRA early and got very good spot near the front!! We took a whole picnic with us, jus dumped it all b4 we got in tho. CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • My brother phoned me from London today (just before he jetted off to Australia for 3 weeks - lucky sod). He said he had a FREE backstage pass when Kasabian and Babyshambles were on in Hyde Park last year and he said in his opinion you get a good view quite easily and that people let you walk up close - he said there was plenty of room.
We are going to go to London on the Friday evening and come back on the Sunday.

I reckon we should have some sort of MSE recognition to see how many of us go to the gig - what do you think? A carnation will be a bit inappropriate - I will have to think of something before we go lol

I am SO excited about going - when do we get the tickets?

I went to the Queen gig in Hyde park last year.
I had GC tickets, and was right at the front with no problems at all.

The general viewing section was a fair way back, and personally I would be well hacked off, if that was as close as I could get.

I did try to get GC tickets for this gig, but failed, so I won't be going.
Luckily enough I saw them at earls court in December, so I can live with it.

If you're taking younger children then its a good idea to stay back a bit, or your likely to get pushed around.

    Fantastic gig by the way.
  • I'd be surprised if its over by 9pm as on the bill according to a poster thats been put online the line-up is

    Foo Fighters
    Mororhead
    Queens Of The Stone Age
    Hot Hot Heat
    The Subways
and taylor Hawkins (Foo's drummer) band which I can't remember the name of
    Titch :)
  • I've been to Hyde Park for 2 gigs - 1 in the general admission area & 1 in the inner "GOLDEN" Circle..

In my opinion, unless you pay the extra £10/£20 for inner circle you may aswell get it on DVD!!!!

I recall last summer, watching REM sitting at a bar with a perfect view & being so glad i paid the extra for not only a better view, but better facilities aswell!!
  • Thing is, it's not the case of paying £10-£20 extra for the inner circle tickets - they were sold out before I could get 2 of them. So it's either get the general admission ones or not go at all.
I'm sure all in all we will have a great time.

  • I got a pre sale link on the wednesday as i'm signed up to their website newsletter. Managed to get 2 golden circle tickets and i'm just so so chuffed as i've wanted to the the Foos and QOTSA for so long. Had tickets to Reading last year but had to sell them as we were getting married and couldn't justify the expense. This more than makes up for it!

So, tip of the day....if you like a band, make sure you sign up for their newsletter!
