oooOOO excited already! I hope it's sunny! is there room to take a picnic and chill out during the earlier bands?
  • Wow, nice line up. Too bad its in London (being in NW England). I saw FF at M.E.N too in December - bloody fantastic.

I saw Foos in December at Earls Court on the sunday (supposedly the better night), and was amazing!! Got there extra extra early to get good standing spot, was 2nd row at one stage. Bloody sis managed to get to very front!

Got my gold circle tickets, cant wait!! At the mo, got no1 to go with! wot stupid friends i have, they dont no what theyre missing!!

Presales started yesterday, hence the premium tickets selling quickly (was was expecting them to go a lot quicker!).

Also, amazed that someone was selling this presale link on eBay, and I saw at least 2 ppl having paid for it!! muppets...

See u lot in the gold circle!!
  • Thanks for that.
I cannot believe people are selling this on ebay, rotten b******s.
I have just put the link on ebay for free.

give lots and you will always recieve lots
  • Great band but don't think they will sell out that quickly. 60,000 is a lot to shift, and they aren't really household names here in the UK. Even Bryan Adams didn't sell out there a couple of summers back. A few more hard rock bands on the agenda and we'll have our own Donnington here in London though !

Rumours are that as the stage and sound system will be set up, Oasis may well be headlining there on the Friday or possibly Sunday night. This is still at the negotiating stage though. The Charalatans may be support for them that night too.
  • for posting this link

i can't wait to see them again, only two months since i saw them in birmingham.

and my leg has just nicely healed from where my boots wore a hole in it as i leapt about like an idiot through the whole show :j

now to sort a cheap train ticket and hotel

  • I'm lucky enough to have a brother who lives in London so I can stay with him that weekend.
I have been to gigs before but not open air ones. I'm taking my teenage son.
I wanted to ask a few questions if that's ok:

If you want a good view do you have to get there really early? I believe the gates open at 4pm.

Can you take your own food and drink?

How do you go for a wee and not lose your place?

Are the ticket sellers shown by the op well known (will we definitely get our tickets).

What time does the gig finish and do the tube stay open to get us home again?

  • 2005Claire if you're in the golden circle I'd imagine it'd be a good view, but it is always advisable to get there early for a good view.

As far as I know there is no way of not losing your place if you go to the toilet! I had to wait till the end when I went watching FF in December.

I've heard that gigs there have to be over by 9pm, and that they close the nearby tube stations, but this isn't confirmed, just what I have heard.

Everyone seems to be able to get Golden Circle tickets except me!

Oh great, another gig I can't go to as I have kids and no babysitter
  • The gig finish by 9pm - really? That would be a lot safer and make getting home easier.

If the gig starts at 4pm should we get there a lot earlier than that? Son virually wants me to camp out the night before so he can get a good view.

We were not lucky enough to get a golden ticket - that's why son is so worried about q ing up etc.

Can we take our own food and drink? Being a money saver I don't suppose the hot dog van will accept part payment with vouchers. lol

    Thanks for your help.

Looking forward to the gig - I have seen a few groups and always been lucky enough to get a good view.
Marilyn Manson shone his big torch at me once - trouble was I had bought a gig t shirt and it was, how shall I put it, made for an 11 year old girl I reckon - as he shone his light on me I had my arms in the air and my belly with all fluff from the new t shirt stuck to it for all to see - not a pretty site - I'm just glad it wasn't televised.
