Ebay - my details

Hi I have just listed a car on ebay and within a couple of hours had two people ring my house phone when I only put my mobile number in the ad.

The 2nd guy I asked how he's got my home number and he was a bit vage saying seller information through ebay but I can't see that anywhere on my ad. I dont want people ring the house as we are ex directory.

Anyone help?
I'll get me coat!

Check on here http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/publisha.content/en/search/residential/search.publisha we were ex directory and were on them took them about a month to remove us finally.
  • Have you tried googling your mobile phone number?
I remember when I sold stuff on ebay that sometimes the selling page would default to show my postcode and I had to manually remove it each time. it's easy to find the street where you live by the postcode and then I suppose just look for the car.
Another idea I had was: is the registration number of the car in the picture? It is possible to get the address of the registered keeper with this.

Just a few ideas I had, does sound a bit dodgy though. The fact you are ex-directory means only people you have told should have your number (not ebay I would assume) so how might they get it? I would google your house number too and see what comes up
    Sorry not much help,.
