Contacting energy supplier

I am changing to scottish power and have phoned them for the first time. It was like a breath of fresh air. I got through straight away and spoke to someone in Scotland and not in a far east call centre. Well done scottish power!!!

Wait until they agree one thing with you, then do the exact opposite, or tell you for 12 months that your payments are fine and do not need altering, then hit you with a £200 bill because they needed to re-estimate the electricity reading and bill you before taking a true reading, or asking you to submit one!

If the customer takes readings for themselves and then does some simple sums, they should know if they are paying the correct monthly amount to cover their usage over the year.

Most users consumption is relatively constant from one year to the next, so customers should know roughly how much energy they consume in a year and therefore be able to do the sums for themselves regarding fairly accurate monthly payments.

I agree with you. I have switched into Online Energy Saver option with ScottishPower and I have no problem in reading my meters once each 90 days to get a £110/year discount :T
