Most ladies love being pampered so depending on your budget, either buy a 'pamper package' or give her a gift voucher for your local beauty salon. I'm sure a fab massage and facial will have her feeling relaxed and spoilt! And then a lunch spent with you will be the icing on the cake:-)

When my dad was 50 he was given a hamper full of 50 little things, some funny, some more serious, all labelled individually. If I remember there were things like playing cards with 'old' jokes, super glue 'for when things crack up', a CD of music from the year he was born, a few miniature bottles of brandy, lottery ticket etc.

Does she have any hobbies or interests? How about a hamper themed around that?

My aunt was given a 'five senses' hamper one birthday - silk scarf for touch, CD for hearing, perfume for smell, home made jam for taste - but I can't remember what the sight one was sorry!

  • its my mums 50th this year also, my brother and sister and i were going to club together and buy her a laptop because shes wanted one for ages, then my stepdad went and bought her one for valentines/their anniversairy.
so i also need ideas, although i am really liking the 50 little things hampers idea, might have to pinch that!
  • that is a lovley idea!
especially if you included some bits like bath salts, nail varnish and some chocs!

I wanted to make her something like a jar with 50 things i love about my mom, but what should i put it in? I would love to buy her something thoughtful but i just dont know, I am so stuck for ideas. LOL and shes my mum. I like the 50 ideas thing though but wouldnt know what to put in it.

How about making a mini book with quotes about being a mum?

I really like your jar idea, all you need to do is sit down and write what you love best about your mum... her roast dinners, her cuppas, her smile...

Have you heard of journal jars? Ideas on these threads...

thanks rainmac I love the idea of making a book with quotes about being a mum in, and i can also include some pictures etc. I still want to stick with the 50 things i love about my mom thing, i think im going to do that now! not sure about journals as my mom doesnt write much like that. But good idea for some one else i have to buy for though..

    Thanks again! xx
