To top it off my ex wants 70% of the equity of our home on sale but is not willing to buy me out. Is this fair although the mortgage is in joint names I paid 20k personally from the sale of a house I had from before we were married which was used towards building works.Ihave had to take out a loan to pay off a credit card bill which was used towards building materials which is 15% of my income.. What should I do? Help needed !
Do you pay for either of these children through the CSA, and if so, are they aware that you are paying half of the mortgage on the home where your ex and the qualifying child live? You may get a reduction in the amount of child maintenance that you pay.0 -
Thanks for the reply , no I do not pay through the CSA I agreed to pay the 15% but now the other costs are storing me moving on in my life, and as you stated she I financialy secure and no change in her financial circumstances like I am having to endure,I'd be happy if she Bought me out of the property, which I have offered at just 30% of equity but has refused.0

I'm in a similar situation to Paul in that I've been paying mortgage & bills for my ex for the past 6 years. She's still in the house we lived in when we were together & it's still in joint names. She pays a bit towards the bills each month (it covers about half the cost of the bills) but its only recently I've started to wake up to & smell the coffee.
We have 2 kids (17 & 14 now, though 17 yr old has just started working) & they stay with me 2 nights per week. On top of that, I'm still asked to get things like school shoes.
I'm pleased I've been able to make sure the kids are ok, but feel a bit naive when I think that my ex, who works, benefits from me paying the mortgage & bills, & child tax credits, is having a very easy ride in a very nice house, in a very nice area.
Anyway, I've taken some comfort in finding & reading this thread. I'm trying to redress a fair balance. Hope things worked out for Paul.0
