There you go Treliac
....LIR put it better than I could.
Also men who can converse with women just the same as they converse with men. If you had the hump over something, M Man will ask what is wrong. Non M Man will ask if it is time of the month.
Mmmm. Think there is a generational difference. DH will do it to flatter (and think he's m-s - though he doesn't even know the term!) Whereas DS will do it and really mean it.
P.S. I just asked DH what he thought the term means (he's watching "Not going out" ATM). He said, "Haven't got a clue." And that was that!!0 -
As a rider to this. Something I have always thought about - Our boys are the product of their upbringing, i.e. the product of what we, as their mothers, teach them about life and respect for women. It's up to us to instil the right values in our sons.0

My dad thought Old Spice was for puffs
(apologies for those of the other persuasion). 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
fc123....I think our men would get on

treliac, I think parents of sons have a very hard time, I think boys/young men might find current demands harder than women. DH has as many female friends as male, gets on reasonably well with one of my exes (showing he can accept I too had a life pre him and wasn't a victim of men) but is natuyrally 'gentlemanly'. He feels not obliged but delighted to be able to offer bag carrying/door opening/flat shoe wearing seat offering to women..not because he thinks they are lesser, just because he likes women.0 -

I got a card...no flowers.
But a card!! Wahoo, more than I have had since 2005.......We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
