I Hate Virgin Money... 34.9% APR

  • This happened to both my OH and my dad's OH with Virgin, both had been paying off the minimum every month without fail at 15.9% or something then got letter saying it was going up to over 30%, both complained and got nowhere and ended up transferring the balances elsewhere.
My dad's OH was at one point paying more in interest to Virgin than her minimum payment was so her balance was just getting bigger each month.

The same thing happened to DH, he had over £5000 on his card though and they put it up to 26.9%. wrote to them but got nowhere. DH took out a loan and paid off the balance in full, loan APR was about 9% so much better than Virgin and at least he knows exactly when the debt will be finished.

OP- In the cold light of day, they may have done you a favour if this action prompts you to move the debt to a less expensive apr.
