problem with a british forces postal address

I wonder if anyone has any experience of trying to apply for a credit card to do a 0% transfer if you have a BFPO address.
We are in Cyprus at the moment and have tried to apply to mint. they will not accept the address.

Alliance and leicester for the free cash won't do it either!!

can anyone help?

The Association for Payment Clearing Services were challenged with this on I think it was Radio 4's MoneyBox, but I can't be too sure. They said they were addressing it.

Why not ask them directly you can via this link:

They are best placed to give you a correct answer. Hope this helps.

we used to have the same problems even when we were at Cambridge using any military address caused no end of delays on card applications and low credit limits. They always wanted me to visit the branch and produce ID and lots of other papers and statements even an authority from the RSM was requested by one branch !
we found the best way around this was to use our parents address who would then keep the cards and account cheque books safe for us.
this takes a little more planning as we used to have to collect them while on leave.
We also visited the UK local branch of Barclays (as it was then)and pre arranged cheque cashing facilites at every local branch i was likely to visit in the UK and also arrange speacial cheque cashing on any cheques I wrote while abroad so that they would not be returned as the RSM would charge you if you bounced any cheques.
How about using a parents address and then communicate via online once everything is set up.If your parents have a computer and you are logged on to it you can read all the mail from the banks from anywhere?
