lease or hire a van

Hi my hubby is self employed - not vat registered - and looking to get hold of a bigger van, transit etc. Not sure about the best way to proceed. Any help anyone??

    What will he use the van for?

    The reason I ask,is because a friend of mine did a short term lease on a Mercedes Vito van for courier work,and because of the mileage that could be potentially involved,the company put allsorts of restrictions on it,however,he should be able to offset the cost of it against tax.
    That's my mutt in the picture above.
  • Thanks for replying, he's a heating and plumbing engineer so it will be for work mainly, didn't know they put restrictions on stuff like this. I just don't know were to start looking!!

    hi im self employed and not vat registered. i tend to buy a van outright and keep for a good 4 year [transit] if its leased your limited to millage as well as sign writing, to buy it outright works best for me in relation to my tax liabilities.
